 Wuhan Grand Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd (Wuhan Grand Pharma) was founded in 1939 in the Revolutionary Base of Taihang Mountain, the former Eighth Route Army Sanitary Materials Plant, which made great efforts in War of Resistance against Japan and War of Liberation. Chairman Mao once wrote an inscription for it: "Developing medicines for therapy and being brave during the embargo is one of the requirements to conquer the enemy."
After 70 year’s development, Wuhan Grand Pharma has developed into a large Sino-foreign joint medical enterprise. The Group has registered capital of RMB 85,000,000, with an occupied area of 220000 square meters, building area of 96000 square meters. We are managing business covering formulations, APIs and intermediates. Annual turnover reaches RMB 400 million, including 15 million on export. Production capability achieves 200 million liquid formulation, 4 billion
solid formulation and 4000mt APIs. The Group is also national strategic reserves base of first aid medicines and designated enterprise for anesthetic.
“Innovative product, expanding market, ever-increasing demand” is our core value. Our research focus on 5 areas including cardiovascular, ophthalmology, liver protection, antibiotic and special APIs. Group has established independent R&D center, with a strong and innovative R&D system. 5% of sales revenues will be invested into the new product R&D each year. Since 1985 when new drug registration method executed, we have finished the development of more than 60 national new drug,; 26 were licensed to manufacture during 2004 to 2007, in which 2 were class ii new drugs, 1 was a class iii new drug, and 6 were the first in China. Now domestically, group had build up famous branches such as Nuojia branch (Enoxacin) on antibiotic, Xinweining (Tirofiban Hydrochloride) on Cardiovascular, Beineiting (Pirenoxine Sodium) on ophthalmology and Nuoning (Dimercaprol) on liver protection, etc. In global market, Wuyao branch was famous as superior quality on API area, with several registration issued by FDA and EDQM, selling to more than 80 countries and areas.
